As a multidisciplinary school, our mission is to facilitate the development of key knowledge, skills and attitudes for students seeking careers in health and wellness-related fields. Professional areas of study available to students include health and wellness, nursing, recreation, physical education, foods and nutrition, psychology, human services, school counseling, and a variety of medicine-related fields.
School of Health Science and Wellness is accredited by NCATE, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, COAPRT and ACEND (for dietetics).
A renovation underway at Martindale Hall, the home of Northwest's School of Health Science and Wellness, will add seven lab spaces, including a sports science lab and a recreation and abilities lab.

The Hughes Fieldhouse stands as the single largest public-private partnership in Northwest's history and one of the largest such projects in the region ever. The $21 million facility, which features a 90-yard practice turf field and 300-meter indoor competition track, serves a multitude of social, recreational and economic needs for the University and region.
The classroom and activity spaces are utilized by the School of Health Science and Wellness regularly.
